Partners Meeting in Ghent

On March 14 and 15, 2019, experts from the Institute for Study of Change participated in a workshop on the project „Engaging Employers in Improving Working Conditions and Increasing the Number of Disabled Employees.“ The project is funded under Operational Program Human Resources Development 2014-2020.
It was hosted by DIVERGENT at the University of Ghent, Belgium. The organization has over 50 years of experience in career counseling, active work on programs for integration and reintegration of people with disabilities, training of human resources specialists. The meeting was also attended by the colleagues from the Polish company Dobre Kadry, which provides specialized services in the field of research, consulting and training regarding the labor market and the needs of all participants in it. Meetings with employers, involving both recruitment specialists and employees with disabilities were organized during the meeting. In a special discussion, each party shared the process of recruitment, adaptation in the workplace and future realization of people.
The Institute for Study of Change introduced to the partners the specifics of the Bulgarian labor market and the difficulties and challenges which the people with disabilities are facing locally. The legal and institutional framework, the social support provided to the various target groups, the policies to promote and integrate disable people into the labor market, were also presented at the meeting. The exchanged experience will be analyzed and implemented.
